William J. Marraccini, Managing Partner
Mr. Marraccini was the founder, principal owner and CEO of AAT Communications, which grew to be the largest privately-owned communications tower company in the United States prior to its sale to SBA Communications in 2006. In addition, Mr. Marraccini was an early owner and operator in many other areas of wireless communications, including paging, major-market cellular, rural cellular and specialized mobile radio or SMR. Through Sweetwater, he has been an early investor in innovative networks and technologies such as Distributed Antenna Systems and cloud computing.
Gordon G. Cohen, Partner
Prior to joining Sweetwater in 2010, Mr. Cohen was managing partner of Merchants Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity fund based in New York which made investments in recurring revenue service businesses including telecommunications services. Prior to joining Merchants Capital in 1999, Mr. Cohen worked for 12 years as an investment banker, primarily with Dean Witter Reynolds Inc. Mr. Cohen received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
George O’Brien, Partner
Mr. O’Brien has been a partner at Sweetwater since 2004. Previously he served as CFO at AAT Communications, the large private communications tower company founded by William Marraccini. Prior to joining AAT, Mr. O’Brien had over thirty years of experience in financial and general management with companies including Information Science Inc., Allied Artist Industries and Roneo Alcatel, Inc. Mr. O’Brien has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Manhattan College and he attended the Business School of New York University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Lynn Zarandona
Ms. Zarandona has over twenty years of financial management experience and serves as comptroller and administrative officer for Sweetwater. Ms Zarandona has worked with Mr. Marraccini for over sixteen years starting at AAT Communications.
